The Q’s Strong Year Continues in August with Concerts from the Biggest Names in Music including Bruno Mars, Tim McGraw + Faith Hill, Coldplay and Lady Gaga
Pollstar’s Mid-Year Arena Rankings Show First Half of 2017 is the Busiest Ever for Concerts at Rocket Mortgage FieldHouse
Cleveland, Ohio — Wrapping up a very busy month of August with four major concerts in nine days, Rocket Mortgage FieldHouse has had an eventful start to 2017. Pollstar magazine, the concert industry’s leading trade publication, recently ranked Rocket Mortgage FieldHouse in its list of top 200 arena venues worldwide for entertainment ticket sales. In the publication’s mid-year business analysis report for 2017, Rocket Mortgage FieldHouse ranked No. 11 in the United States and No. 30 worldwide in ticket sales for major concert touring attractions. The venue’s mid-year rankings are the highest in the arena’s history, giving credence to Cleveland and Rocket Mortgage FieldHouse’s current status as one of the most active arenas in the world and a prime destination for major concert tours and events.
In August alone, Bruno Mars, Tim McGraw + Faith Hill and Coldplay all performed at The Q, with Lady Gaga scheduled for tonight, August 23rd. The sold-out Bruno Mars and Coldplay shows along with Lady Gaga are produced by Live Nation, who was ranked by Pollstar as the #1 promoter in the world for entertainment ticket sales in their mid-year report. During the second half of 2017, Rocket Mortgage FieldHouse will also host Summer Jam, Ed Sheeran, Roger Waters, Fall Out Boy, Guns N’ Roses, JAY-Z, Andrea Bocelli, Janet Jackson and Katy Perry. “We work very closely with our local Live Nation group led by Michael Belkin and Barry Gabel, as well as other promoters such as AEG and the Messina Touring Group, to ensure the biggest names in music today continue to make Rocket Mortgage FieldHouse and Cleveland a stop on their tour routes in what is an increasingly crowded and competitive regional marketplace,” said Len Komoroski, CEO of the Cavaliers and Rocket Mortgage FieldHouse. “Northeast Ohio strongly supports these tours and when they do well, Cleveland does well. Each of these shows creates impact and brings tens of thousands of fans from across the region downtown to enjoy everything our city has to offer.”
In 2015, Rocket Mortgage FieldHouse ranked No. 13 in the United States and No. 33 worldwide in the publication’s year-end ticket sales report for top touring attractions. In 2016, the arena experienced a dip in show dates and ranking, however, the decline was for all the right reasons. The Cleveland Cavaliers playoff run and NBA Finals, which ultimately led to the team’s first Championship, the Cleveland Monsters AHL Championship and the hosting of a successful Republican National Convention, required that a limited number of events could be scheduled at Rocket Mortgage FieldHouse from mid-April through mid-August. The Pollstar report, which covers the global concert business, does not include ticket sales from the arena’s sporting events.
