Rocket Mortgage FieldHouse to Host 2014 MAC Tournament

The heart-pounding, fast-breaking action of college basketball is back when the 2014 Mid-American Conference Tournament returns to Rocket Mortgage FieldHouse March 12th-15th! Celebrating 15 years of MAC basketball action in Cleveland, eight of the 12 schools that make up the Mid-American Conference will send men's and women's teams to Rocket Mortgage FieldHouse to battle for the MAC Championship and an automatic bid to the NCAA Tournament.
Men’s & Women’s opening round tournament games will begin on campus sites Monday, March 10th for seeds No. 5- No. 12.
Then the #MACtion comes to Rocket Mortgage FieldHouse! This four-day tournament will showcase the best of the best in men’s and women’s college basketball with second round matchups on Wednesday, March 12th, third round games on Thursday, March 13th and semifinals on Friday, March 14th. Three days will feature two afternoon women's games and two evening men's contests. The men's and women's championship games will be played on Saturday, March 15th.
Tickets start at $18 (plus applicable fees) and go on sale Monday, February 3rd at 10:00 a.m. online, charge by phone at (888) 894-9424, the Rocket Mortgage FieldHouse Box Office & all Northern Ohio Discount Drug Mart locations. Fans should buy early, as ticket prices increase $3 when purchased on game day.
The tournament will also bring fans together for the ultimate pep rally as MAC FanFest returns to Tower City Center! Throughout the 2014 tournament, MAC FanFest is FREE and open to the public to allow fans the opportunity to meet and greet cheerleaders, mascots and bands from their favorite MAC schools and participate in activities including free throw contests, dunk contests, cornhole contests, tattoo booths, interactive inflatables and more!
In the 2013 men’s championship game, No. 1 seeded Akron earned an automatic bid to the NCAA Tournament by surpassing No. 2 Ohio, 65-46. In the 2013 women’s championship game, the No. 4 seeded Central Michigan defeated the No. 3 seed Akron to win the title, 86-68, and clinched a spot in the NCAA Women’s Tournament.
