GUIDELINES FOR CONTENT CREATION

All assets required for content creation must be supplied to ANC before we can begin designing your graphic. Any Corporate Branding Rules or guidelines must also be supplied in advance.

Storyboards or layouts should be created at approximately the same aspect ratio as the boards the final graphic will be displayed on.

Any special fonts, logos, images, or video elements must be specified and supplied in appropriate formats in order to be included in the final graphic.

SUPPLYING MESSAGES AND FONTS

Any messages requested will be incorporated into the final graphic as requested. Please check the spelling of names, places, etc, in your request.

Specific fonts requested must be supplied as TTF or OTF font types. If you are unable to supply the font, please create an outlined Illustrator file of the message submitted as an AI or EPS file.

SUPPLYING LOGOS OR IMAGES

Logos should be submitted as vector EPS, AI or PDF files whenever possible. This will allow us to create your graphic at the highest possible quality. If you cannot supply a vector file, artwork can be supplied at a minimum resolution of 640 pixels by 480 pixels in high-quality JPG, BMP, or PSD formats. Any logos at a lower resolution than this may not be usable.

Horizontal or unstacked versions of logos are preferable for graphics on the LED Fascia Boards.

Images, photographs or textures should be provided at the highest possible resolution and can be supplied as layered PSD, JPG or BMP formats. Keep in mind that if the image has to be scaled up past its native resolution, the result will be pixellated or blurry on the LED boards.

SUPPLYING ANIMATIONS

Video or Animated elements must be supplied as either Uncompressed AVI, Quicktime Animation, Quicktime PNG, or High-Quality Quicktime H264 at 30 frames a second and Millions of Colors. Special codecs such as Camera formats or intermediate formats may not be usable.

DISPLAY AD SPECS

    • All other banners: 100k or less
  • Run of Network (RON) available ad sizes include 970x90, 728x90, 640x100, 468x60, 300x250, 320x50.
    • The Run of Network (RON) Internet advertising program delivers banner advertisement impressions on any page of the Cavs.com, ClevelandMonsters.com, and RocketMortgageFieldHouse.com.

VIDEO PRE-ROLL

Include a twenty percent “Share of Voice” for all video pre-roll online video advertising that plays prior to video content on Cavs.com or on the Cavs Mobile App. Cavs.com Pre-Roll includes a short-form video advertisement not to exceed 15-seconds in length, and a 300x60 companion banner ad located below the video player. Companion assets only trigger on https://www.nba.com/cavaliers/video.

Please Note: Cavs Mobile App pre-roll does not include companion banner.

  • Accepted Streaming Video Ad Delivery Formats: Aspect Ratios: 16:9 & 4:3 (4:3 to get black curtains to fit 16:9)
  • File-Based Media (16:9 & 4:3): QuickTime MOV, MPEG-4, MP4, AVI
  • All files must contain a soundtrack, even if the ad is to run without sound.
  • Volume Levels: Mean volume < 24db LKFS with an acceptable range of +/- 2DB (26db or -22db it will still pass and is acceptable)
  • Frame Rate: 29.97
  • File Names: No Spaces (only _ or – )
  • Finished Files: No Slates

Pre-roll is not currently available on ClevelandMonsters.com or RocketMortgageFieldHouse.com

GENERAL AD SPECS

  • To allow for proper approval and testing, TPP submission deadlines are as follows:
    • Homepage Takeover: Total 14 business days
    • Banner: Total 12 business days (size already DFP served on team site/page)
    • Banner: Total 18 business days (NEW size currently doesn’t exist, is currently hardcoded on team site or ad is becoming exclusive to specific section or page)
    • Pre-Roll Video: Total 13 business days
  • Third Party Ad Tags & Vendors:
  • Audio Policy – No host-initiated audio is permitted on NBA.com or NBA Team Sites. Audio must be user-initiated by clicking within the banner and contain a clearly visible “Mute” and “Stop’ function.

  • Please email high res .pdf.
  • Printer prints in CMYK and adhere to SWOP specifications.
  • All files should be of printable, high-resolution quality (300dpi for color or grayscale art, 600dpi for black and white line art). 
  • The printer accepts Acrobat, QuarkXpress (v 3.2 – 4.11), Photoshop (up to 5.5), Illustrator (up to 8.01). 
  • Documents must be linked to the most up-to-date graphics, fonts, logos, etc.
  • All scans must be saved as EPS or TIF files in CMYK format.
  • The printer does not accept True Type fonts.
  • Use all actual fonts; do not stylize them.

TV SPOTS

All Cavs TV spots and traffic instructions can be sent to the following email addresses:

No digital downloads emailed links, or Dropbox transfers will be accepted.

For all billboards/features, please send high-res TV logos and 0:5-:10 copies directly to rbanks@cavs.com.

All spots must be sent digitally to System Code 5672 via any of the following methods:

  • Extreme Reach

  • Comcast Ad Delivery
  • Centaur (Instructions further below)

NO LATER than 72 hours before the next CAVS telecast. Make sure to clearly mark that the spot is for CAVS TV.

TV SPOTS - CENTAUR

Centaur's rates are listed below, as well as instructions to sign up, upload spots, and submit delivery orders.

Spot Format: We accept all broadcast quality formats. Spots should be uploaded trimmed for air (without any bars/slates/black, exactly 30:00 for a 30-second spot) to avoid a manual trim fee. Centaur’s automation system adds slate/black to individual station specs if needed, and also encodes to the specified video, audio, and metadata formats for each media destination.

Destinations: Centaur delivers to more than 6000 destinations. Please identify broadcast stations by call letters and cable systems by syscodes.
